Peter Sobotta (born January 1, 1987) is a professional mixed martial arts fighter who currently competes in the welterweight division for the Ultimate Fighting Championships.

Peter was born in Zabrze, Poland. When he was three, he and his family moved to Balingen, Germany. He is said to be one of Germany's top fighters.
Peter began training in Judo, Taekwondo and Kickboxing when he turned six years old. When he was in his teens, Peter began training mixed martial arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. His main skills come from kickboxing and submission wrestling.
Peter made his mixed martial arts debut in 2004 defeating Christian Bruckner. Peter won three more fights before taking his first loss. Peter won four more fights, holding a record of 8-1. The UFC was holding an event in Germany and wanted a German fighter for the card so they signed Peter to a four fight deal.
Peter made his debut for the promotion losing on the UFC 99 card in his home country of Germany. Peter fought UFC veteran, Paul Taylor.
Sobotta was scheduled to fight DaMarques Johnson on November 14, 2009 at UFC 105, but due to a military commitment for Sobotta, the bout has been cancelled.[1][2]
